About Tennis

The tennis is great down here.  There are courts everywhere and
many of them are clay.  There are also some hard courts, but the
clay courts are more fun, and they seem to be easier on the body.
Whether you're down here with a group, your significant other,
or by yourself, it's very easy to find a good match and get into
the game.

Tennis is also an excellent spectator sport.  Many of the local racket
clubs are designed with grandstands and/or clubhouse porches for
watching others play.  Several clubs have FREE evening professional
exhibitions once a week for much of the year.  They are casual fun
events, that usually appeal to serious tennis players and to folks who
play only occasionally.  Some even offer free refreshments!

On Hilton Head, tennis is a year-round activity.  As one of the top
50 tennis destinations in the U.S.A., Hilton Head has the facilities
and the competition to satisfy the most discriminating player.
There's more than 20 tennis clubs with over 300 courts.  Clay,
grass, or a variety of hard surfaces are available.  Six of the clubs
with 125 courts, offer court time to the public.
